Inspiration

Our inspiration for Pulse Path came from the urgent need for optimized ambulance routing systems in emergency medical services. We recognized that every second counts when it comes to saving lives, and efficient route management can significantly reduce response times. The devastating impact of delayed medical assistance during emergencies drove us to develop a solution that leverages technology to enhance healthcare delivery.

What it does

Pulse Path is an innovative application designed to auto-assign and optimize ambulance routes based on real-time data and geographical analysis. By analyzing traffic patterns, road conditions, and the locations of patients in need, Pulse Path calculates the fastest and most efficient routes for ambulances. This ensures that emergency services can reach patients promptly, improving the chances of positive outcomes during critical medical situations.

How we built it

To build Pulse Path, we utilized a combination of programming languages and technologies. We implemented a robust notebook using Wolfram, integrating built in algorithms for ambulance optimization.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges we encountered was the complexity of optimizing ambulance routes. Ensuring our application could efficiently process and analyze extensive traffic and geographical data. We also faced difficulties in accurately predicting traffic patterns, which necessitated rigorous testing and refinement of our algorithms. Balancing the app's performance with a user-friendly interface required careful design considerations.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are particularly proud of our successful implementation of the ambulance optimization algorithm, which significantly reduced average response times in our simulations. What's next for Pulse Path

Our goal is to partner with local emergency services to pilot our application in real-world scenarios, gather user feedback, and iterate on our design to ensure that Pulse Path meets the needs of those we aim to serve.
