Vipula Rawte
I completed Ph.D. in Computer Science at the Artificial Intelligence Institute of UofSC (AIISC), where I was advised by Dr. Amit Sheth. My current area of research is hallucinations in large language models.
I received my Master's in Computer Science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), NY, where I was advised by Dr. Mohammed J. Zaki. I worked in the area of financial text in collaboration with Dr. Aparna Gupta (Lally School of Management). I applied modern Transformer-based models to solve challenging problems in real-world, unstructured textual data, such as lengthy company filings.
I interned at IBM Research, Zürich. I worked on the NER problem for identifying software entities from the IT technical reports, where I was supervised by Dr. Anika Schumann, Dr. Birgit Pfitzmann and Dr. Arun Kumar (IBM Research, India). Previously, I worked at the Tetherless World Constellation under the supervision of Dr. Deborah L. McGuinness, where I worked on developing NanoMine Ontology for Polymer Nanocomposites.
I got my Master's in Computer Engineering from University of Mumbai (MU), India, where my thesis was focused on the Semantic Web. I got my Bachelor's in Information Technology from MU. I also worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of IT at MU.
